Gifts for book lovers // Giveaway

I'm particular with gift guides but one's I love to write are ones for book lovers because it's basically my own Christmas list. Not that the image above is very Christmassey but I am giving away presents, so stick around to the end as there may be a giveaway! Instead of linking you to several random products I thought I'd cover a few areas to inspire you towards your perfect pressie:

The start of a new series, or the next in the series.

A Court of Thorns and Roses, The Lightning Thief, and Passenger are all great first novels that will get your bookish friend into a new series. There’s one thing we readers love and that’s getting stuck into a new series and demolishing the entire thing in a few weeks. Even better, if you know exactly what series your friend is into at the moment the next book in the series would make a great present. Just make sure they don’t get their own and start it before Christmas, maybe the last in the series may be a safer bet!

Comfy Clothes

Now while I do read all the time in different places, my favourite places to read are either my bed or the sofa, snuggled up in something comfy (usually a big jumper or my dressing gown). If you have no idea what sorts of books your bookish friend is into you can skip the guessing game and get them something to wear while reading. I know it's summer in NZ but there is comfy summer clothing so have a good look around. Check out The Iconic and Lyst who have a great selection of comfy clothing from a range of shops like Forever 21, Nasty gal, and River Island (think skyscanner but for clothing) so you’ll be sure to find something on there (sort low to high if you're on a budget). Loving: this reindeer jumper from Forever 21 & this Nasty gal striped jumper.

Merchandise

Similar to the clothing, if you don’t know what books they’re into you could always get them some merch. Surely you know at least one of their favourite fandoms, one they always talk about but don’t have any new books coming out you can buy them? My boyfriend and I collect Funko Pop’s and frankly, we don’t care if we’re uncool because they’re fab. There are heaps of pops and other merch on MightyApe so you should be able to find one that suits. Loving: Flocked Bambi Funko Pop & the illustrated Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban are currently on my Christmas list.

Accessories

Whatever they like doing while reading, whether it be drinking tea or eating snacks or they are one of those readers who enjoy listening to music at the same time. Get them something to go along with the book if you don't know their book preference. A cute mug, or some fancy tea for example. Check out T2 for those special teas and they also have some snazzy things to hold the tea too! Loving: this glittery takeaway cup & this damn cute leafy cup and saucer.

Now, as it’s Christmas I thought I’d do a wee giveaway! If you’d like to win a book of your choice up to the value of NZ$15 follow the rafflecopter instructions below. Open internationally, as long as Book Depository delivers to you. The comp will close on the 10th of December so unfortunately, I can’t guarantee your prize will be with you in time for Christmas but fingers crossed it will be! Good luck and thanks for being lovely readers xx
