Happy Things of the Week

Friday, 13 October 2017
I’ve done this once or twice before here and it’s always been a sort of popular post. It tends to give a little perspective on the little things in life instead of focusing on all the bad things. The last post was in light of the major earthquake we had in New Zealand last year, but this one isn’t based off any major incident. Just a minor thing that made my week start off on a bad note.

I had planned to go to a blog event Monday night but unfortunately, my social anxiety got to the point where I couldn't convince myself to go, even with the promise of food and a goody bag! I had a plus one but none of my friends I asked could make it so I couldn't bring myself to go to an event where I knew no one. Conveniently it's Mental Health Awareness Week this week, so instead of kicking myself about the one bad thing that happened this week, I want to list some things that went well!
  • I started listening to the My Dad Wrote A Porno podcast, it's fabulously hilarious and I have no idea why I never started listening to it before. If you haven't started, go listen to it now!
  • I'm going to Octoberfest tomorrow, I haven't been since 2014 so I'm looking forward to supporting my Boyfriend performing and having a good night.
  • I hit 80 followers on Bloglovin.
  • Catching up with old friends.
  • Erm, I won an award?! My team and I won a Silver Best Award for one of our University projects. It wasn't gold, but I'm still proud of us!
  • Cadbury's Mini Rolls are finally being created here in NZ, I grew up on these in my primary school lunches in England so it kind of made my day when I discovered them in the supermarket before work.
  • Had a fair few discussions on Twitter which led to meeting new lovely people.
  • I've successfully managed to keep up with Inktober, and I've actually been doing them each day as well, not missing a day and having to do two or more the day after. So let's hope I can keep it up until the 31st!
What good things have been happening to you this week?
