Bloggers made me buy it, make up edition beauty collection concealer soap & glory wet n wild illuminating palette maybelline too faced colourpop
Bloggers and Youtuber's are called Influencers for a reason, and here's a pile of beauty products they've managed to convince me to buy (and what I think of them).

Soap & Glory

I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve heard British bloggers and vloggers talk about Soap & Glory products and how amazing the sugar crush range smells. So of course, when I finally got around to looking through Mecca Cosmetica a few months after it made its way to Wellington I had to pick up some of the range.

I have to say though, I was thoroughly disappointed the way they described the scent was rather off. While the sugar crush Hand Food hand cream does a decent job the scent just wasn’t what I was expecting, I’m not a huge fan of it and there’s heaps of better smelling hand creams on the market that do a similar job. As for The Righteous Butter body cream, I’m not a fan of the scent either but as I’m only using it on my legs I’m not hugely fussed. Probably won’t bother buying them again though, they do the job but there’s heaps of better smelling stuff on the market that do a similar job.

Wet n Wild Illuminating Palette

I’d been considering buying a highlighter for a while but didn’t want to splurge on one of the expensive ones and I rarely saw any cheaper ones that people recommended. Then I saw Angela (AStyleCollector) receive this one on her Instagram Stories and then her good review and the fact that it was only $12 I thought why not.

I only use half of this palette, as the gold and pink strips are way too obvious and I’m not sure who would want a pink strip down their face (I’m sure it would be a nice blush) but the half I do use is nice. As my first highlighter, I don’t really have much to base it on, but as I was using a sparkly whiteish eyeshadow before, this does do a much better job. I feel it’s not amazing but does the job for $12 and I’m not going to bother spending more but something a little bit better.

Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara

Another thing I picked up from Mecca Cosmetica after everyone raves about it. I swear there are like four mascaras that everyone talks about as their holy grails and this is one of them. I’m rather picky about mascara so I only picked up the mini just in case I wasn’t a fan. I don’t like clumpy mascara, and I don’t like very wet formulas so most of the ones I’ve tried in the past I’ve not liked.

This isn’t for everyday at all, it’s slightly clumpy but not enough that I don’t like it but it’s definitely a weekend and evening mascara for me. I occasionally use it on the outer lashes on top of my usual everyday mascara (Covergirl Clump Crusher) if I’m looking a bit tired, but I don’t think I’ll bother buying the full version, or even the mini again. I much prefer my usual one.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I feel like you're not allowed to be a blogger or a vlogger or anything of the kind unless you've tried and raved about this concealer. I remember when it finally first started being sold here and all us Kiwis went crazy.

It doesn’t cover my undereye circles 100% but it does a good enough job that I continue to buy it and went slightly into mourning when it stopped being sold for over a month and I had to use the Rimmel Wake Me Up that wasn’t half as good. Don’t worry it’s back on sale now and my face has never looked better.

Colourpop Lippie Stix

How could you be on the internet and not hear about how great Colourpop’s makeup is, especially their Lippie Stix. The amount of raving from everyone, not just the big beauty bloggers, I knew I wanted to try them out. I took the plunge on a rare occasion they were having free international delivery and I am kicking myself for not getting more as I haven’t seen a free international delivery offer since.

With everyone raving about them I did have high hopes and frankly I wasn’t disappointed. I have a Matte in Lumière and a Matte X in cami. The cami is definitely my favourite and while I don’t use them in the full opaque way they’re meant to be used as I’m not confident enough for as bold as they go, they definitely have great colour.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, the Lash Sensational is one of the top mascaras always talked about by bloggers and youtubers. Personally the formula is way too wet for me right now so I’ve put it in my drawer to dry out a bit before I try again.

Have you been influenced to buy any of these? What did you think of them?
