I don't know about you, but I could not wait for this four day weekend. After some rather busy weeks since going back to work after Christmas I was in due need for a holiday, and because I'm saving my holidays up for halfway through the year I've been throughly taking advantage of these public holidays.

Usually the weekends, whether long or regular, are spent catching up with other aspects of my life besides work like working on this blog and improving my lettering skills. During that time if I'm ever sat watching a show or scrolling Instagram for far too long I constantly tell myself off as I could be doing something much more productive. However, this weekend I told myself to ignore everything and literally do whatever I felt like. Doesn't matter if I have a post going live next week that I haven't started, or I missed a day of my daily lettering, I wanted to let my hair down and fully recharge my batteries. I wasn't going to let myself be bullied into going on a walk or doing anything else that I didn't want to do. If all I wanted to do was sit in bed and binge watch Parks and Rec while eating chocolate, then that was what I was going to do.

While I didn't spend the entire four days in bed I did manage to sleep in past 8am for the first time since Christmas! I finished a book, finished my March Daily Lettering challenge, finished the second series of A Series of Unfortunate Events, and even wrote a blogpost – none of it was forced or done because I had to. It's now Monday and I actually feel recharged, while not as much as a proper week/two week holiday away from home would give me, it's definitely better than I've been feeling.

Tonight I'm going to make an easy dinner, put on a face mask, and watch a movie before having an early night. Fingers crossed I'll still feel this refreshed and awake at 7am tomorrow morning when I have to get up to get ready for work, I highly doubt it but we'll see!

How was your long weekend? Did you do anything to help recharge your batteries?
